The MacManus brothers are back with guns blazing in the long-awaited sequel to The Boondock Saints. The Saints are living in Ireland with dear old dad (Billy Connolly) when they get word a priest in Boston has been killed in a way that sets them up to be the fall guys. Long-haired and bearded from the Irish winters, they shed their hair (and their clothes) to head back to Beantown to set things straight. They're joined by a new Saint, Romeo (Clifton Collins Jr. with a sweet mullet), along with the trio of cops from the first movie. And although the unforgettable FBI Special Agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe) is nowhere to be found, Special Agent Eunice Bloom (Julie Benz) is on the case, full of piss and vinegar just behind that sweet Southern smile.

Pegasus News: Movie review and talent interviews: Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
by John P. Meyer
If you pay too much attention to the big picture message and philosophical implications behind Troy Duffy's script for Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, you're likely to despise the film. Unless you're an advocate of vigilante justice.
If, however, you're jonesing for a spectacularly choreographed, artfully filmed shoot 'em up in the bloody tradition of Sam Pekinpah or John Woo, you will be delighted.
As those who've seen the first Boondock Saints are aware, that film was light on female roles, but in his long-anticipated return to Boondockville, director Duffy has given filmgoers a doozy in the character of FBI Special Agent Eunice Bloom. This slinky, sexy, southern drawlin', whip smart operative is played by delicious Dexter dame Julie Benz -- though you may not recognize her in... READ MORE

Saints star in town for special screening
After 10 years, the Boondocks Saints have come out of hiding, and Sean Patrick Flanery says all your questions about the vigilante fraternal twins will be answered in the new film.
However, if you need more answers, Flanery will take your questions after the screening of The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day at 7:50 tonight at the Edwards Marq*E Theater, 7600 Katy Freeway.
Flanery, who grew up in Sugar Land and often returns to visit his parents, stars as Connor MacManus. In the 1999 film, Connor teams with his brother Murphy (Norman Reedus) to rid Boston of evil. It's a bloody job.
When the sequel opens, the violent brothers have been living undercover in Ireland with their father, Il Duce (Billy Connolly). The murder of a beloved priest brings the Saints back to Boston. They find a comrade, played by Clifton Collins Jr. (Star Trek), and dodge an FBI operative, played by Julie Benz (Dexter).

Julie Benz on The Boondock Saints II and What's Next on Dexter
Dexter's Julie Benz stars on one of the most violent dramas on TV but the blood usually comes only at the hands of her on-screen husband, Dexter Morgan. In her new film, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, Benz finds herself right in the middle of the action.
"I actually got to play with guns!" Benz says.
Although Benz had never seen the original 1999 film, she immediately gravitated toward the part of southern belle FBI agent Eunice Bloom. "[Writer-director] Troy Duffy wrote this really amazing woman," Benz says. "She's not a victim or a love interest; she's like a guy but still a woman. That's what I really ... READ MORE

On the sets of 'The Social Network' and 'The Town'
All ‘Saints’ day
Ten years after “Boondock Saints,’’ the film detailing the rise and fall of bartender-turned-scriptwriter Troy Duffy, still has many, many fans. A screening this week of the sequel, “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,’’ attracted twice as many people as could be accommodated at the Loews Boston Common. (In the end, more than 300 people had to be turned away.) Duffy told the crowd he had resisted seeing the new film because “I wanted to watch this in my home with a bunch of ‘Boondock’ fans.’’ And afterward when the audience reacted enthusiastically? “My baby’s got 10 fingers and 10 toes. I found that out tonight,’’ Duffy said. Given the filmmaker’s unpredictable nature, we had high hopes for the after-party at the Paradise, but because much of the audience was under 21, they couldn’t get in, so it was a subdued affair. Billy Connolly left early, while Duffy, Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, and Bob Marley mingled with fans and signed autographs.
